VISJET Computer Ocean Outfall Modelling System |

| In the near future, all of Hong Kong's sewage will be discharged
through a huge ocean outfall system in the southern coastal waters of Hong Kong. Based on
theoretical and experimental research in hydraulics and computer graphics, the Civil
Engineering Department and the Computer Science Department (of HKU) have joined hands to
develop a state of the art computer outfall modelling system to predict and visualize the
environmental impact of sewage discharged into the ocean. The model has been adopted for
use in the Hong Kong Strategic Sewage Disposal Scheme (SSDS), the Stage II Shanghai
Combined Sewerage Project, and the post operation monitoring of the Sydney Deep Water
Ocean Outfall. Model Simulations: |
