CW2F2023

Climate, Weather and Water Forum (CW2F) 2023 in Hong Kong

Date : 5 June 2023 – 7* June 2023 (Monday – Wednesday)
Time :  9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Venue:  Padma and Hari Harilela Lecture Theater (LT-C), Academic Building, HKUST
*We will also have an optional Oyster Farm field trip in the afternoon of 7th June.

The 3rd Climate, Weather and Water Forum (CW2F) will be hosted by the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and jointly organized by The International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research – Hong Kong Chapter (IAHR-HK). We also have great support from several government departments and industrial sponsor (as in the flyer attached).

The Forum aims to facilitate an annual dialog among scientists, engineers, students, public and private enterprises, and government entities to address emerging threats from the changing climate and extreme weather, the depleting availability of clean water, the urge to identify renewable energy to replace fossil fuel, to reduce uncertainty and anxiety for the next generation that inherits the world. Climate, weather, and water are the three keys to our most prominent concerns about the environment, and yet they are intertwined. Climate is changing while freshwater is becoming scarcer. Humankind has never been this concerned about the consequence of global warming on regional climate, weather, and society.
